Biography of Daphne Sorensen

Daphne de Souza Lima Sorensen is the CEO of MiracleFeet, a global nonprofit working to end the disability caused by untreated clubfoot by expanding access to treatment in low-resource settings around the world. Under her leadership, MiracleFeet partners with local organizations and public health systems in more than 38 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and has helped more than 130,000 children access life-changing care.

Originally from Brazil, Daphne has spent more than 25 years working in international development and child-focused programs across Latin America, Africa, and the United States. She has lived and worked in countries including Mozambique, Bolivia, Panama, Uganda, and Brazil, and previously held leadership roles with Save the Children and Lumos Foundation, focusing on child rights, health, and community development.

Daphne holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and is passionate about ensuring that all children – regardless of where they are born – have the opportunity to grow up healthy, mobile, and able to fully participate in their communities.

She is also the mother of a teenage daughter who continually keeps her grounded, learning, and humble. Outside of work, Daphne loves being outdoors, especially near the ocean. She enjoys biking, traveling, and scuba diving whenever she has the chance.
