Family law is complicated. There are prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, custody petitions, visitation petitions, and post judgment matters, among other issues. Moreover, family law exists within an evolving society where perspectives, opportunities, and technologies are constantly changing and influencing the outcomes. This is why I was excited to have Kelly Scott on the podcast. As a seasoned attorney in a leadership role within the family law community, Kelly is a careful observer of family law trends. Biography of Kelly Scott
Kelly A. Scott believes the two keys to handling matters most effectively for clients are transparency and communication. Kelly is a partner in the Family Law group at Pullman & Comley and is based in the firm's Hartford and Westport, Connecticut, offices. She represents clients in all areas of matrimonial and family law, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, dissolution, custody and visitation petitions and post judgment matters. She takes a reasoned approach to understanding and developing a client's goals from the outset, and then works to implement those goals from start to finish. Kelly has extensive experience representing clients with high-net worth and complicated assets, both in the preparation of prenuptial/postnuptial agreements and in dissolution matters. She regularly interfaces with business valuation, accounting and other financial experts. When child custody is at issue, Kelly is well versed in preparing a case effectively and efficiently to achieve the best possible outcome. Kelly is also a certified Guardian ad litem.
Kelly is an active member of the legal community and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. She is a Special Master for family matters in the Fairfield Judicial District. She regularly writes and presents on a broad range of family law topics. She has been recognized for her accomplishments by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers in the area of family law and ranked Band 1 by Chambers 2025 High Net Worth Guide.
